The Creativity Photo Project is still on: Nepal 2017

English, Castellano, Català.

As you could expect, I could not remain put for a month “in between projects” in Kathmandu. Things to do I do have a lot, contracts, news, reports, etc… but if I am not hands on in something or other, I am not happy! J Moreover, as the #RatoBaltin project is long term, the less money I may spend, the better. So I have been living for these past days in the Martyrs School and giving classes both to teachers and students alike (in exchange for a room, with kitchen on top!).

I already knew the place, from the 2015. I spent here the most freezing and dark month of February  of my whole life… in the middle of the Indian blockade, when there was no gas and the electrical transformers in the street were exploding and you had to wait three days to have electricity again… for just three hours and then lose it and back to square one! Pfff!.. awful times those. That blockade damaged the country quite much more than that horrible earthquake that killed 9,000 people and left hundreds without home, who are still living nowadays in temporary dwellings. But that blockade paralyzed the country for more than 6 months, caused many prices to go sky rocketing and they have not gone down since; apart from leaving the Nepalese with the feeling that any moment it can happen again. Every 2 or 3 months rumor spreads and people go crazy buying gas and fuel.

The country wants to pretend an improvement, specially now that there are elections coming; building works everywhere, plots are dearer than in Barcelona, but you are still without drinking water or a garbage collection system, or paved roads.

But of course, from their “new year” it is prohibited to honk without a real reason, bins have appeared in the city (in strange places…) and crossing the road wherever you please will be fined… (I don’t know how do they pretend to paint zebra crossings in the mudflats in the middle of the city..), but this is Nepal, sure they succeed!! They make the impossible possible and the easy parts… they complicate them as much as they can.

Well, this is it then…. I will soon let you know about the three Creativity Photo Project workshops that I have done in the Martyrs School! 😉

Pictures an videos at the end.
